It is with sadness but also profound thanks for its long mission, that we announced the closure of The Wilkes School at Grace & St. Peter’s, on June 30, 2020.

Founded by its namesake rector and his wife in the late 1940s, the school provided a quality education to Baltimore’s working families.  The first integrated school in the city – and the only Episcopal elementary school in Baltimore – its graduates were consistently accepted into the city’s most prestigious middle schools.  The parish and school thank the generations of students, families, faculty, administrators, clergy, and trustees who together created a unique, nurturing environment in which thousands of young people grew, learned, and thrived.
