The Rev. Christopher Pyles comes to Grace & St. Peter’s from the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania, where he was rector of St. John’s, Bellefonte.  A native of suburban Washington, D.C., he studied for the priesthood at the General Theological Seminary in New York City.  Between college at Fordham University and starting at GTS, he worked in publishing and institutional advancement.  During his years in Central Pennsylvania, he was a member of the Commission on Ministry, chairman of the Liturgical Commission, and a member of the Standing Committee.

Earlier in his ministry, he was Associate Rector at St. Luke’s, Germantown, in Philadelphia from 2007 to 2010, and Assistant to the Rector at the Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge from 2005 to 2007. He was ordained in 2005 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, having been sponsored for ordination by the Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch on the Upper West Side.
